offers the best service possible to our clients.
Who We Are
Tim Schmidt, President and Chief Executive Officer
Tim Schmidt formed Schmidt, Long, and Associates in 1984,
pioneering a focused audit of health claims designed to identify
the cost effects of provider reimbursement arrangements on
large, national, self-insured medical benefit plans. He directed
medical claims audit projects for Fortune 200 corporations
including USX, AT&T, DaimlerChrysler, MBNA Procter & Gamble,
General Electric, Kmart, and Georgia-Pacific among others.
A leading national expert in analyzing actual medical claims
cost and the effect of medical service provider reimbursement
and pricing arrangements on self-insured medical benefits plans,
Mr. Schmidt has provided expert testimony in numerous lawsuits
involving insurance companies, self-insured employers, and plan
beneficiaries. He has also been called on as a consulting expert
for the Department of Labor on the subject of health claims cost
accounting.
Doug Perry, Chief Financial Officer
Doug Perry engaged in consulting services for Ernst & Young
before holding a senior management position in a large
Healthcare System for nearly ten years. Through his experience
in growing that institution from $160 million to $1.4 billion in
business Mr. Perry has been recognized as a leader in assisting
healthcare clients in significant financial recoveries. His
specific successes in overhauling collections, auditing and
reviewing Contract Payment deficiencies and reorganization of
business operations bring great financial knowledge and strength
to our team.
Bill Hobrecht, Chief Information Officer
Bill Hobrecht has over two decades of experience in
information systems development and management. In the early
1980’s, he pioneered database-publishing systems for the
financial services industry. Mr. Hobrecht was also a pioneer in
the development of HIPAA compliant web-based technologies that
lead to enhanced productivity for clinical billing systems and
more effective patient communication. His continued success in
developing information technology systems gives the MCAG team a
deep well of experience and ingenuity to draw from in meeting
the dynamic and challenging IT needs of the healthcare industry.
Through his leadership MCAG has been able to lead the way in
physician responsiveness to ongoing managed care changes.
